Nyagashiha is a crucial coffee washing station in Burundi’s Murago region. It supports 1172 farmers, yielding 400 metric tons of green coffee annually. The region’s temperate climate aids in slow cherry maturation, enhancing flavour & complexity. With rigorous double sorting overseen by Jean-Baptiste, Nyagashiha consistently delivers high-quality coffee, recognised with a top 20 placement in the Cup of Excellence 2019. As part of the Akawa project, Nyagashiha prioritises sustainability & social equity, aiming to enhance living standards & economic opportunities for coffee producers.
